Full disclosure all over

By Malcolm McEwen, Letter to the Editor

I fully support Assemblyman Katcho Achadjian: the legal definition of rape should include getting consent for sex by impersonation, as mentioned the The Tribune's Jan. 5 front-page article ("Ruling on rape appeal provokes outrage").

I hope that he will also take the lead in supporting SB 52: the California Disclose Act. This bill would require political advertisers (whether they are wealthy individuals, corporations, or labor unions) to disclose their true identity, rather than hiding behind some innocuously-named "political action committee." After all, if full disclosure is required before sex, then full disclosure should also be required before someone inserts propaganda into my mailbox, uses the radio to whisper sweet nothings into my ear, or seduces me with television spots.
